​ Respected Sir, With due respect, I wish to share a governance-related feedback regarding the present structure of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), purely in the interest of better urban administration and public connect. Over the years, GHMC has expanded rapidly through the merger of multiple municipalities, corporations, and villages, resulting in an oversized civic body with nearly 300 divisions. This has led to excessive centralisation, delays in service delivery, and reduced accessibility of governance to common citizens—especially in peripheral areas. Further, several divisions today are named after localities that do not even fall within those divisions, creating confusion and leading to a loss of historical and local identity. This weakens people’s emotional connect with civic administration and contradicts the principle of rooted, local governance.
