New India is about to take off....
Trust me, the period around 2023-25 would be the time when India will take off for a completely new beginning. It is not just a hollow optimism, but my conviction based on the facts, ground report and progress of projects which I would like to present here :
1. RAILWAYS :
One of the biggest problems India is facing right now is the terrible condition of trains originating from and terminating at Delhi. This is due to overburdened tracks in Delhi-Kolkata and Delhi-Mumbai sectors. By 2024, the DFC (Dedicated Freight Corridor) will be completed. This means that all the goods train will move on separate track. The current tracks will be free for passenger trains. More trains, More seats, Better service, Less accidents....and more importantly, timely running of trains will be a reality from somewhere around 2024.
- Almost 3000 km of railway tracks are being laid per year now.
- By 2024, all the metre gauges would have been converted to Broad Gauge.
-WiFi and elevators would have been installed on most of the stations with good traffic.
- LHB coaches are being produced and ICF coaches will no more be produced...leading to almost no loss of life even if accidents occur.
---------------------
2. AIRWAYS :
Can you believe that a country as big as India, and the one which is developing at the fastest rate, did not have its Aviation Policy till 2015 ?
With new aviation policy drafted and implemented, the aviation sector has witnessed unprecedented growth.
- Till 2017, there were 450 commercial planes being operated (private+govt). In 2018 alone, 900 new planes have been ordered.
-Private companies have been expanding their network and new cities are being connected.
- Under UDAN by 2022, about 150 new airports will become functional which means Tier 2 cities will have air connectivity.
- Air connectivity not only improves connectivity, but brings massive jobs and boosts tourism to the small cities which till now do not have air connectivity.
---------------------
3. SHIPPING:
Under Bharatmala and Port development projects, by 2024 we will be having regular movement of containers and cargo via seaways. It has already started and is growing exponentially. Since we don't see shipping (like we see roads, trains), it doesnt directly affect public. But it reduces the traffic on roads and railways...making it more available to public traffic.
- About 15,000 km of roads connecting the ports will boost commerce, trade and transport of goods.
---------------------
4. ELECTRICITY :
After electrifying all the villages scheduled to be completed soon, the next scheme is electrification of households. With electricity reaching the households, it will herald a new beginning. Though the target of 2022 is ambitious, but 2024 seems practical.
- The power generation is surplus now.
- LEDs have led to savings of about Rs 15,000 crore of electricity bill per year, and 37,000 million Kilowatt hour
- With new infrastructure in place, scarcity of electricity will be gone by 2024.
---------------------
5. BULLET TRAIN:
The Ahmedabad-Mumbai Bullet train will be completed by 2023 and will take the country to the league of HSTs. Soon, bullet trains on other routes are scheduled to come up after initial surveys have been finalised. This will mark a quantum jump in the standard of travel.
---------------------
6. FINANCIAL INCLUSION
Jandhan Account, Direct Subsidy and Linking with Adhar has plugged almost all the leakage. The country is saving Rs 60,000 crore annually and this money is being used for the infrastructure development. By 2022, when DBT will become complete in all fields, it will give a sense of financial inclusion to everyone across the country, and help the country in taking off !!
---------------------
7. HEALTH:
By 2024, under the Ayushman scheme (known as MODICARE), more than 45 crore people (10 crore families) would have been covered under health insurance of Rs 5,00,000 each. This will not only save money, but will give a massive boost to the human resources. It will be a game changer in the next 5-6 years once totally implemented.
---------------------
However, for these to materialize, the government which is the "AIM CHASER" and has finished its work in time-bound frame need to be in power. The first example of this on mega scale is opening of JanDhan accounts within the time, LPG cylinders to women in time-bound manner, Inauguration of the Terminal 4 of Mumbai container port, and completion of Bidar-Gulbarga rail lines.
If Narendra Modi is elected with majority, the above scheduled works will be completed by 2023-25 and that is when the changes will start to become visible.....just like the National Highways program started by Vajpayee Ji became visible around 2010-11...
Remember, projects worth Rupees 12,00,000 CRORE remained pending due to lack of political will since 1980s. The government has made sure ALL the projects have been started and work is completed in time-bound manner. If we lose the chance in 2019, we will be put back by another few decades.... Don't get diverted.
