Smart City Mission, is an urban renewal and retrofitting program by the Government of India with the mission to develop 100 cities across the country making them citizen friendly and sustainable. "100 Smart Cities Mission" was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 25 June 2016. There are about 3000 small-big Projects worth over Rs.1.6 Lac Crores for implementation in Cities under various Phases.
